# Dice Automator Pro — Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what information Dice Automator Pro (the "Extension") collects, how it is used, stored, and shared, and the choices you have. By installing or using the Extension, you agree to the practices described below.

## 1. Overview
Dice Automator Pro is a browser extension that automates job applications on Dice.com. It helps you search and apply to jobs more efficiently, track your applications, and manage your usage.
The Extension is designed to be **privacy-respecting**:
- It does **not** sell your data.
- It does **not** show ads or track you across websites.
- It does **not** collect your browsing history outside of the job-search activity you choose to run.
- Most of the job data it processes is stored **locally on your device** and is never sent to us.

## 2. Information We Collect
### 2.1 Information you provide directly
- **Account credentials (email address and password):** When you create an account or sign in, the email address and password are sent to **Supabase** (our authentication provider) so we can securely identify you and manage your account. Passwords are stored by Supabase using industry-standard hashing; we never see or store your plain-text password.
- **Form auto-fill answers:** If you use the form auto-fill feature, you may provide answers such as work authorization status, location preferences, contract type, salary expectations, experience level, relocation preferences, on-site preferences, start date, and how you heard about the job. These answers are stored **locally** in your browser's extension storage and are used only to fill application forms on Dice.com.
- **User labels (optional):** The Extension's panel lets you create named user profiles (e.g., "Default") to organize per-user reports. These names are stored locally.
### 2.2 Information we collect automatically
- **Job application data:** When you run an automation session, the Extension reads job listings from the Dice.com page you are viewing — including job titles, company names, locations, dates posted, and job URLs — and records the result of each application (applied, skipped, already applied, failed, pending). This data is stored **locally** in your browser's extension storage.
- **Usage information:** The Extension tracks basic usage counters, such as the number of applications submitted per day (used to enforce the free-tier daily limit), the last page/index you processed, and your paused/running state. This is stored locally and, for daily-limit enforcement, read together with your account's license status.
- **License/premium status:** The Extension checks your account's premium status (stored in our Supabase database) to decide whether free-tier limits apply.
### 2.3 Information we do NOT collect
- Your full browsing history, websites visited outside of Dice.com, passwords to other sites, or keystrokes outside of the application forms you choose to submit.
- Your payment card details (see Section 4 — payments are handled entirely by our payment provider, Paddle).

## 3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- **Account management:** create and authenticate your account (email/password) so you can access premium features and restore your settings.
- **License enforcement:** determine whether your account is on the free or premium plan and apply the corresponding limits.
- **Automation:** process job listings and fill application forms on Dice.com using the answers you provided, exactly as you direct.
- **Application tracking and reporting:** keep a local history of jobs you applied to or skipped so you can review and export your own report (CSV download).
- **Service support and security:** respond to your support requests and protect the Extension and services from abuse.
We do **not** use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating the Extension.

## 4. Information We Share
We share information **only** with the third parties necessary to operate the Extension:

- **Payment data:** When you upgrade to the premium plan, you are taken to a secure Paddle checkout page. Card and payment information is submitted **directly to Paddle** and is subject to Paddle's privacy policy. We never receive or store your full payment card number.
- **Job data:** Job application data stored in the Extension is **not shared** with us, Supabase, Paddle, or any third party. It remains on your device unless you choose to export it (CSV download) or delete it.
- **Legal compliance:** We may disclose information if required to do so by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
We do **not** sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

## 5. Data Storage and Security
- **Local storage:** The majority of your data (job reports, form answers, session state, user profiles) is stored in your browser's extension storage on your own device. Transient tab-processing state is stored in the browser's session storage and is cleared when the browser closes.
- **Cloud storage:** Only your account credentials and license/premium status are stored with Supabase. Supabase employs industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
- **Access controls:** We restrict access to your account data to the minimal set needed to operate the service.

## 6. Data Retention
- **Local data:** Job reports and settings remain on your device until you delete them. You can delete them at any time using the Extension's "Reset Session" and "Clear Reports" controls, or by removing the Extension and clearing your browser's extension storage.
- **Account data:** Your account (email, hashed password, and license status) remains in Supabase until you request deletion. See Section 7 for how to request account deletion.
- **Transient data:** In-memory tab state is cleared when the browser restarts.

## 7. Your Rights and Choices
- **Access and export:** You can view your application report in the Extension's panel and export it as a CSV file at any time.
- **Delete local data:** Use "Reset Session" / "Clear Reports" in the Extension, uninstall the Extension, or clear the Extension's storage from your browser settings.
- **Delete account:** To permanently delete your account and the associated data stored with Supabase, contact us at [developer contact email — replace with your email]. We will process your request and delete your account data within a reasonable time.
- **Withdraw consent / disable features:** You can pause or stop automation at any time from the Extension's panel, and you can uninstall the Extension at any time.

## 8. Children's Privacy
The Extension is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

## 9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Extension. Your continued use of the Extension after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
